This page explains how Mortar Finance handles personal information: what you give us when you apply for finance, and what this website collects when you visit it or send us an enquiry.

When we arrange finance for you

Mortar Finance Pty Ltd is a credit representative of Australian Finance Group Ltd (AFG). Before we arrange finance for you, we ask you to read and sign AFG’s privacy disclosure statement and consent. It explains how your personal, financial and credit information is used, and who it may be shared with.

Enquiry forms on this website

When you send an enquiry, what you type into the form, such as your name, phone number, email address and message, is emailed to our team. A copy is also kept in the website so an enquiry can’t go missing. Our email is with Google. Enquiries from our Mackay pages go to Nicole Watson, our Mackay broker.

The Mackay forms also record which page you sent the form from and, if you arrived from an ad or a link, where you came from. That tells us which of our advertising is working.

If you apply for a job through our Careers page, your details are emailed to our team and kept in the website in the same way. Your CV is attached to that email and isn’t stored on the website.

Visitor statistics

We count visits to this website in two ways.

The first is private visitor statistics, run by Actually Works, who host and look after this website. They don’t use cookies, don’t store your IP address, and are kept in Australia. They record the pages you view, the site you came from, your device and browser, and your approximate location.

The second is Google Analytics, which uses cookies to recognise return visits. Google processes this information and may do so outside Australia. You can block it in your browser’s cookie settings or with Google’s opt-out add-on.

Hosting and security

This website runs on a server in Sydney, looked after by Actually Works. Visits pass through Cloudflare, which protects the site from attacks and may process visit information outside Australia. The website’s security tools record the IP address behind suspicious activity, such as repeated failed logins.

The website, including the enquiries kept in it, is backed up every night to a server in Brisbane, and each backup is kept for 30 days.
